Secretary

Rebecca Arnold

As the daughter of President Emeritus Dr. David Arnold and Gloria, Becky plays an integral part of the ministry.  She serves as the ministry's Secretary and is the main organizer for day-to-day activities in the Arnold household and perhaps more importantly, she is our coordinator for WEO church visitation opportunities.

Becky has a heart for the little children of our ministry and is constantly seeking to improve teaching materials and aids for students and teachers in the many WEO schools.

Director Evangelism/Church Planting

Pst Douglas Toth

Pastor Doug is the pastor of Immanuel Baptist Church in New Brighton, PA since November of 2015 and has assumed the role of Director - Evangelism and Church Planting for WEO.

Doug has made several trips to Africa to visit and witness first hand the amazing work that God is accomplishing in Sierra Leone as well as other countries in Africa.

​

Doug coordinates and oversees WEO's evangelistic activities, including church plants, annual conferences for pastors, men, women and teens and, seeks to establish and maintain a uniform and godly doctrine among the many WEO churches and schools in West Africa, such that WEO speaks one voice when presenting the gospel to our African families.

Director of Finance and Developments

Michael Scherer

Mike is a 25 year member and deacon of the Immanuel Baptist Church in New Brighton, PA.

​

Mike retired as Senior Project Manager with FLUOR Marine Propulsion Corporation, coordinating the US International Naval Nuclear (Revitalization) Program with the UK. 

​

Mike received his BS degree in Nuclear Engineering from North Carolina State University in 1980 and Master's degree from the University of Cincinnati in 1982.

​

Mike met Dr. David Arnold in 2018, and reluctantly agreed to visit Africa with him.  Soon after returning to the US from that first visit, Mike felt the tug of the Holy Spirit asking him to help out in the ministry wherever needed.

​

Mike serves WEO as Director of Finances and Developments.

Director of Rescue -A- Child Ministry

Cynthia Scherer

Cynthia is a retired midwife who practiced in her Stoneboro, PA clinic, birthing more than 1,375 babies through her 25 year career. 

​

Cynthia first joined WEO in 2019 and was soon promoted to Director of the Rescue-A-Child Ministry, a program that houses, feeds, educates and loves over 90 orphans in two WEO orphanages located in Sierra Leone and Liberia.

Cynthia strongly believes that through a child's  introduction to the Bible, God’s plan of salvation will change their eternity. That child will then impact those around them and others they meet in the future, thus continuing to change the eternal outcome of lives in Sierra Leone, Liberia, Ghana, and beyond.

Cynthia is married to Mike (Director of Finances and Developments) and together they have 16 children and 8 grandchildren to help keep them busy.

Director of Africa Missions 

Evangelist Solomon Gorvie

Solomon is WEO's Director for Africa Missions.  In this role he is responsible for all WEO churches, schools, orphanages and Makripodis College day-to-day operations.

​

Solomon and his wife Matilda form an excellent team that provides the strong leadership which WEO requires for such an important role.

Director of Prayer Warrior Teams

Evangelist Davie Arnold

Davie Arnold is Dr. Arnold's firstborn son.  He was recently ordained into the WEO ministry and serves as the Director of Prayer Teams.

Davie is married to Theresa and together they support WEO through speaking engagements, counseling and as lead for the Prayer Warrior Teams that WEO places in US contributing churches.
